I discovered Carpenter & Capt on the Internet. I had previously met with another attorney someone referred me to. I left the initial consultation with this lawyer with $100 less in my pocketbook, feeling misunderstood and very depressed due to this individual's lack of knowledge and interest in my case. Time was running out; I needed not only an expert, but an expert who could actually deliver. So it was with skepticism that I went in to meet with Robert Carpenter but within minutes, my attitude changed. Robert listened very carefully, then promptly (and clearly) explained to me the permanent residency process. At that point, I had been in the US for almost 10 years, as a student, and was determined to get a green card simply because I had invested too much of my life in this country to leave and start over some place else. Furthermore, I loved my life in United States. I worked very closely with Robert and was very pleased by the level of professionalism, kindness, patience and remarkable efficiency he demonstrated. Even when we encountered road blocks, Robert remained calm and saved the day. They safely got me to the H1-B visa, helped me pass Labor Certification and complete the countless other procedures. Three years after the start of our collaboration, my green card arrived: twelve long years of uncertainty were finally behind me. I couldn't be more proud of my association with Carpenter & Capt and if I decide to become a US citizen, there's no question that they will get the job. There's too much at stake for someone trying to get permanent residency, which is why a capable law firm is needed. Well, Carpenter & Capt wears the triple crown: ethical, professional and highly competent. I feel like I owe them my life."

When my husband and I decided to get married and subsequently apply for me to legalize my status, we didn't know where to turn. I found your law firm on an online search engine and after reading the testimonials, I was convinced that you guys were the way to go! I now, after a successful process, have the opportunity to write a testimonial that would hopefully let another couple or person know how great you guys are! All of you, from the receptionist to the attorneys are very professional, courteous and knowledgeable, always answered my questions, either right away or in a timely fashion. After the "case" was closed, I am always able to call with any questions. I am always amazed at the fact that my name is always remembered, and that alone makes me feel like I really matter. Your honesty, professionalism, dedication, expertise, and passion for what you do made this, from what I've heard from other people, who either opted out of an attorney or picked the" not-so-good-you-are-only-a-$-to-me-one" an overwhelming, tedious and nightmare of a process, into a breeze. I felt calmed and confident with your firm behind us and thanks to you The AMERICAN DREAM has and continues to come true for me and my family.

Thank you very much; you will always have a place in my family. I'll always recommend you and will continue to use your services, either from immigration or other in the future! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I was referred to Robert Carpenter by a friend of mine who had a very complicated immigration case and got it resolved with Robert's help. I needed a lawyer to help me with the H1B visa and started working with Robert Carpenter in 2003. During the initial consultation, Robert spent over an hour with me and thoroughly explained the whole process. When I decided to work with him, he did all the paperwork for my H1B accurately and in a timely manner.

Later, when I decided to apply for my permanent residency, Robert thoroughly explained my options (I could apply through my employer after doing the labor certification; or, I could apply through my mother, who is a permanent resident), and gave me accurate timelines for both of them. We both decided that the quicker way would be to apply through my employer. It is a long and complicated process that involves multiple steps and applications, and I would have never succeeded without Robert's help.

I received my permanent residency card several days ago and can't thank Robert and his staff enough for all the help and support! He and his office staff are extremely helpful, organized, and were always responsive to all my questions (and I had plenty of them!). They definitely made this whole process much less stressful for me, and, most importantly - did it all accurately, which ensured my success in acquiring permanent residency status in the U.S. Thank you!

We recently worked with Patricia Carpenter and the firm of Carpenter & Capt on a new vacation home closing in New Buffalo, Michigan. From our first meeting throughout the transaction, Patricia was professional, extremely friendly and informative. The process of buying a new home is never fun, and in this current economic environment, lenders have become increasingly scrutinizing—almost to the point of reticence—and the challenges are exponential when the purchase is not a primary residence and is out-of-state. In this instance, the mortgage processor we were assigned by the bank was poorly informed and demonstrated little interest in facilitating our new mortgage to meet our closing window. In fact, we had to reschedule our initial closing as the processor asked for more and more information and action that was not requested initially. Through it all, Patricia expertly guided us, and was calmly reassuring that we'd finalize our deal. She helped us meet every incremental request by the bank, and we closed on our beautiful new home before our offer expired.

When retaining professional services, my wife and I expect competency and responsiveness. Patricia and her firm delivered this in spades. What's rare these days is when these services are rendered in a personal and friendly manner. This purchase could have been much more painful, and may have not happened at all, had it not been for this terrific attorney. We emphatically recommend Patricia and her firm to anyone trying to buy a new home, and will most certainly work with her again on our next purchase in this area. Warmest regards—

CK and MK

Judge Morton Denslow, U.S. Magistrate Judge,  in his fee Order in the case of Kobzev v. U.S. INS, 00 C 4576, heard by then Chief Judge Marvin Aspen. The case involved a DV adjustment applicant who could not get the local INS officer to close his file before the end of the fiscal year. Carpenter & Capt filed suit, uncovered errors on the Services' part, including the interviewing Officer faxing information requests to an abandoned U.S. Naval Base instead of to the U.S. Embassy. Judge Aspen granted the relief sought, the client and his family procured their permanent residency, and the full amount of attorney's fees sought under the EAJA were ordered by Judge Denslow.

Hi Rob,

I don't think I can explain to you in words how much we and everyone appreciate everything you have done. You did an awesome job today, we all felt that. I will never forget how you changed the lives of so many of us, especially for the kids, which are the most important in this whole situation. You gave them their father and you gave me my husband, I will always be grateful for that...you are an exceptional attorney and human being, I can tell over the last few months you just want to do what's right and fair in helping people and it must be a great feeling knowing how you affect so many lives. Thanks again for everything!

Dear Robert & Patricia,

'Namaste' is the traditional Nepali blessing which translates as 'I bless the divine in you' & is a reminder to us to always look & see the good and beautiful in all of us. We want to thank you for your hard work, dedication to our welfare & the creativity & professionalism you show in your calling to serve your clients to the best of your ability.

When you purchase a service, you agree to a contract & a set price. But your kindness, generosity with your time & knowledge, your patience, your promptness & your guidance through this difficult time is priceless. Your unwavering support and willingness to go the extra mile is so gratefully appreciated and far beyond what we could ever pay you. One day we hope to be able to return the kindness, for we will never forget it.

AM & DS, Nepal, after hiring the firm when their marriage-based case was denied abroad. We submitted new evidence & a brief totaling 200+ pages, which resulted in an approval of his permanent residency. I-130 Marriage-Based Visa Petition Appeal at the Katmandu, Nepal Immigrant Visa Section, 2005

I started my greed card application right after I married my husband. I filed paper work myself and thought it should be a piece of cake. After my first interview with local INS officer, everything went bad. The officer even asked me directly "did you ask your husband to marry you"? It was pretty insulting and humiliating. Just like what I expected, my case wasn't rejected, but started pending. I was told because the fact that my husband and I lived separately, we didn't have a wedding ceremony and we married 4 month after we met, etc. I was suspected for marriage fraud.

I knew I was in deep trouble and needed professional help. After meeting with 5 attorneys in Chicago, I choose Robert to represent my case because his sharp thinking and knowledge of immigration cases. Both Robert and Brian guided me through every single step and always being very positive on my case. The good news is after 2 years and 5 months waiting period, two on-site interviews with INS officers and I don't even know how many requests of additional evidences, my case was finally approved on 3/8/2010.

I have no doubt that without both Robert and Brian's help; I could have got my permanent resident card. My experience with the whole office is pleasant all the time; everyone in the office is very friendly; my phone calls and e-mails were always returned on time. I want to thank Kristina (she is the Assistant), Robert Carpenter and Brian Sather for their professional help. It's not easy to find a good attorney and I think I am pretty lucky here.

Dear Mr. Carpenter

I am writing to you to express my gratitude for the years of excellent service that you and your staff have provided to me and my family. The latest instance in this regard is the successful accomplishment of my parents' approval of permanent residency status in the USA.

You and your entire staff including Krissy and Mike as well as your partners Patricia and Brian have been completely accessible during the entire process. Your response to my queries was always prompt. We were helped at each step of the way in a very cordial and professional manner. Your personal attention to the details of my case and the manner in which you attended to my parents personally is deeply appreciated and will never be forgotten. In fact the care and attention that we received from you was the most important aspect of our relationship. It helped us feel that you were knowledgeable about our case and that we were in "good hands". The times where we had specific questions that required accurate explanation we were able to benefit from expertise and your willingness to research the correct information and interpretation of the law with actual references. In addition you have helped me find other attorneys in various fields of law whenever needed.

I am personally impressed by your professionalism and your attention to the needs of your clients. I do feel that you care about your client's best interests. I am completely satisfied of the services that you have provided for us. I will definitely use your services in the future if needed and will be happy to refer others to you as well.

P.S. My parents send their love and prayers for you and your family

Dear Robert,

My husband, my daughters and I wanted to take this opportunity to express our gratitude and our thanks to you and your office staff. As you are aware my husband has been back since July 10, 2010 (after 7 long years), we took our daughters (now 10 and 8) to Disney World for 2 weeks and every time I would see them so happy I could not help but think that all this all would not have been possible without you, your hard work and dedication. We are so happy and grateful to have him back. Thanks to your hard work Robert, my daughters have their father back and I have my husband. It is great to finally move on with our lives, I cannot put into words how our lives have changed.

Thank you for all the assistance you have provided to us, we appreciate the information and advice you gave to us, your expertise and help have been invaluable during this process. Again, thank you so much. We sincerely appreciate your generosity Robert.

Robert Carpenter is a great lawyer. His handling of my case was fast, extremely professional and focused on positive results. All our communications were perfect and at no time did I feel unassured that we will succeed. Surprisingly, Robert solved my case and got me an approval two months before the timeline we had fixed. I am very impressed by the results and the way our case got handled and will recommend to anybody in need of help to use Robert Carpenter's service.Thank you again Robert.

We were very fortunate to have you as our attorney. There is no single word that can express our feeling, but thank you very much for all of your help and support for this process. We truly appreciate everything that you have done for us. Thank you so much!

YE & DE, Japan   Marriage-Based Visa & Adjustment of Status Immigration Application 2007 Detroit,MI

My wife and my I-485 (Adjustment of Status applications through employment-based petition) were stuck by my name check with the FBI for almost four years without any progress. With desperation and frustration, I tried to find an attorney to file a writ of mandamus for me. I talked to a dozen of immigration attorneys but they did not want to file the lawsuit against the government. Finally I found Mr. Carpenter from internet and it seemed to be a piece of cake for him to file a mandamus action against USCIS. A few months later, my background check was cleared and our green cards were approved. I think Mr. Carpenter is an experienced immigration attorney. I've been especially impressed of his extensive experience in mandamus actions against the USCIS. I highly recommend Mr. Carpenter to you for any immigration needs.

Mr. X, China  Mandamus Suit Against the U.S. CIS for Delayed Employment-Based Visa Immigration Application, Filed in the Eastern District of Michigan Federal District Court, Resolved June 2007, Detroit, Michigan

We were referred to Carpenter and Capt, by a family member who had used their services. We had problems with a past attorney and were very nervous about going to our first appointment at Carpenter and Capt. From our first meeting, Mr. Carpenter calmed our nerves. He always made us feel welcome in the office, and when speaking to anyone over the telephone we were always very comfortable. Anytime we had a question everyone was always very helpful. Step by step they let us know what was going to happen or what we needed to do next. They were always very prompt, when receiving notices from the USCIS, at calling us and telling what was going on in our case . We always felt up to date and never in the dark.

We had first applied for my husband's visa back in 1997 and had been denied twice in Mexico. We had almost given up hope and then heard about Robert Carpenter. Our case was a difficult case; however, in April we received news that our application had been approved, and he received his visa only days after! This was one of the most wonderful things that had happened to our family. Our case was approved only months after working with Mr. Carpenter. To be completely honest, I feel as though he has given me back my husband, given our chi ldren back their father, and given our family back its freedom. We know that working with Mr. Carpenter was without a doubt the best decision that we have made. There are not enough words in the language to describe how grateful we are to Robert Carpenter and his staff

L & J, U.S. & Mexico   Marriage-Based Visa Adjustment of Status Immigration Application filed and granted in Chicago, Illinois 2007

It all started with my H1B1 when I was looking for an attorney to help me through all the process step by step. I came about finding Carpenter & Capt from the yellow pages in the phone book. It was like finding a needle in the haystack with all the advertised attorneys available to choose from.

I decided to pick Carpenter and Capt at that time because it seems to be the closest to where I was living, but apart from that I have no idea on how efficient their method and processes were.

I called them up and I was immediately directed to Robert Carpenter. We talked for a bit and after that we scheduled an appointment to sit down and go over the details regarding my H1B1 visa application. Being foreign to this whole new deal, he pretty much explained the whole process in a simple yet understandable manner and answered all my questions without hesitation. I felt comfortable with the whole explanation and decided to give this a shot. After I got my H1B1 visa approved, I decided to have Robert process my application to be a permanent resident. I knew time was an important factor, so without delay we went right ahead to do it.

Throughout the process there were a lot of paperwork to be filed and signed, but everything that was done by Robert Carpenter and his associates were very well thought out and organized. I particularly like those where to sign red/yellow stickers, especially when my boss didn't have the patience to look for the sign column. We didn't have any problems with any paperwork. That was when I couldn't imagine that some people would risk doing it by themselves with so many legal paperwork and steps to go through.

Upon having my permanent residency status approved, I want to thank Robert and his associates on doing such a wonderful job and for their professional ethics in business practices. Sure there are many attorneys out there that claim that they can do the same thing, but one thing for sure in my case, Robert claimed what he can do and he delivered what he said professionally.

JC, China  Labor Certification & Employment-Based Visa Immigration Application Lincoln, NE & Chicago, IL 2004

I met Robert in mid-1998 as I had received a job offer in Chicago and needed to initiate a new H1B1 process. I recall him being very helpful and professional, walking me through the process, and securing the visa in a short timeframe.

When the time came to request my Permanent Residency, I immediately contacted Robert. Although living in Chicago, my employer was Ohio based, which necessitated coordination with the Labor Department there. Throughout the entire process, Robert was extremely professional, quickly attentive, and clearly explained every step of the process.

The process entailed numerous EADs, Advance Parole documents, and waits at the immigration offices. Through it all, Robert personally, or one of the Firm's associates, was at my side.

What struck me most about Robert and the Firm was the professionalism and honesty with which I was treated. At no time did Robert make a promise he could not keep, nor did he give me false hopes about how long the process would take. Make no mistake, it is a long process. However, I always felt protected and well represented by Carpenter & Capt.

I recently received my Permanent Resident Card, and thank Robert and his Firm for his unwavering support throughout the years

I have only very good things to say about the law offices of Carpenter and Capt. I was very blessed to have found them in my time of need as they were very knowledgeable and experienced with the nature of my case. I felt comforted and confident each and every time I spoke with my attorney...and I would recommend the law offices of Carpenter and Capt to anybody who needs honest and reliable legal representation. These guys know what they're doing and I'll sign my name to that!!

Thank you both for your efforts in helping me to obtain my permanent Residence status in the United States. Working with the two of you ensured that the process ran smooth and all information was filled out correctly and delivered in a timely fashion. Along with that you both were there to answer any and all questions that we had throughout the 4 ½ month process. Your knowledge, attention to detail and guidance throughout entire process provided my family and I reassurance we made the right decision to work with Carpenter & Capt. Thanks again and I look forward to working with you in a few years to obtain my US Citizenship.

I have been a client of Mr. Robert Carpenter (CARPENTER & CAPT, CHARTERED) since early 1998. He provided me with exceptional and dedicated services through out the past 6 years. First, I went to him spring of 1998 for my First H1-B work visa and he was able to get it approved within 4 months beating a deadline that otherwise would have made me wait for months longer. Second, he was able to renew my H1-B1 visa with less than a month. After realizing how exceptional his service and dedication are, I contacted Robert to initiate my Green Card process through my employer and I couldn't have made a better decision. He got my labor certification within 4 months through the RIR track, got my I-140 with 2 months and filed my I-1485 adjustment of status application on time and without a hitch. I am glad to say that I have received my approval for my green card and permanent residency last week and I could not have done it without the professional services of Mr. Robert Carpenter. Robert was with me all the way, going with me to every appointment and answering any question within minutes through e-mails and/or phone. He was accessible all the time and following up on every inquiry I make. I have been recommending Robert to friends, co-workers and family members and would not recommend anybody else.

I sought the counsel of Mr. Carpenter for my naturalization process. He was extremely thorough and accommodating. He bent backwards to provide me with appointment times suitable to my schedule. He kept me updated at each step of the process, and he was always available to answer my questions. I would most definitely retain his services again. It was an outstanding experience.

My wife and I obtained the services of Carpenter and Capt during the winter of 2003. My wife's brother specifically recommended that we consult with Robert Carpenter. My wife and son were in need of assistance in order to obtain permanent residency in this country. During our initial consultation with Robert Carpenter we were highly impressed by his professionalism, courtesy and extensive knowledge relative to Immigration cases.

We could not have made a wiser decision. Robert Carpenter and staff addressed our concerns promptly via e-mail or phone calls. All pertinent forms and paperwork was spelled out clearly and legibly. On June 14, 2005 my wife and son became permanent residents. Robert Carpenter accompanied us during the final interview process. We are forever grateful for the flawless manner in which he handled our case. If ever the need does arise, or if I can recommend the services of Carpenter & Capt to others I would not hesitate to do so.

Carpenter and Capt have represented me in various Visa matters (H1B1 & labor certification) over the last five years. Through Mr. Carpenter's efforts I was recently able to achieve my permanent resident status. He kept me updated throughout every step of the process and was always available to answer any questions. His responses were quick and thorough, just like all his work.

I will retain Mr. Carpenter's services again and would recommend him highly to anyone.

Your firm did an outstanding job. You are all extremely responsive and very organized which is so critical in this process. The process with the wrong attorney can be very painful; we learned this the hard way! Once we turned over our case to you, everything was processed in a timely fashion and we were kept up to date every step of the way. You did a great job!

A & M, Jordan  Marriage-Based Immigrant Visa Petition & Application for Adjustment of Status Immigration Application

I was introduced to Robert Carpenter in late 1998 by a professional acquaintance of his, with whom I had been working with previously.

I was considering taking the National Interest Waiver path to my permanent residency and it was on this basis she thought of him as a worthy referral. Considering that the NIW path is one of most difficult routes to take, he took me on as a client after examining the details of my case. As he progressed along, there were several RFE's (Request for Evidence) from the INS (which is normal in NIW cases), which were responded to in a timely and able manner by Mr. Carpenter. The case was ultimately approved as a result of the firm's efforts. Of particular mention, was an incident that required me to leave for overseas on a family emergency. Mr. Carpenter obtained an Advanced Parole (a procedure which takes 10 days) in a matter of hours from the local INS office, an action which was truly commendable.

I got married in 2003 and my wife who was in Houston moved to Chicago for a new job. Once again I approached Robert for help to file for her H1-B employer based petition. My wife was very impressed with his efficiency and the courteous help of his business staff on resolving issues over the phone as well as accompanying her to the local INS office on a couple of occasions. When I became eligible to apply for citizenship in 2007, I entrusted Robert to handle my case again. The papers were filed efficiently and I was even accompanied to the local office for my interview. My citizenship papers were obtained without any issues. Needless to say I approached Robert one last time when I was eligible to apply for my wife's permanent residence card by virtue of my citizenship. Here I would like to mention that in all these cases his business staff is expertly well versed with all the paperwork required from the client's end and Robert is always available for any questions or queries over the phone. His phone conversations have always been concise and speak of an individual who is a connoisseur of immigration law.

My wife obtained her permanent residence card recently. During my decade long association with Robert I have recommended him to acquaintances will continue to do so.

Thank you very much for representing us and helping my wife receive a green card. While there are many lawyers, I believe that finding a qualified and affordable immigration lawyer us usually not easy. I am grateful that my friend referred to your office and that you represented both my naturalization and my wife's green card application. I am impressed with your professionalism. You even respond to my email during weekends. Although most of our communications were done via email, we experienced no inconvenience and always felt at ease as we trusted not only your knowledge of immigration laws, but also the staff members working with you.

We sincerely hope that those who would like to hire a qualified, experienced, responsible, efficient, mature, and professional immigration lawyer ask you to represent them. I will continue to tell my friends about the excellent services that we have received and recommend your office to those who need to have assistance from an immigration lawyers.

We greatly appreciate your help. Thanks again for helping me become a U.S. citizen and obtain me wife's green card.

Dear Brian,

Mrs. L. and I are very pleased to recommend you and Carpenter & Capt, Chtd.

We have retained you commencing 2004, originally in your own sole practice, and subsequently in your practice with Carpenter & Capt, Chtd., on two separate matters. We are very pleased with the quality of your work.

Our background and experience with legal counsel in your specialty is limited to you and Carpenter & Capt, Chtd.; however, I feel particularly qualified to make such assessment and judgment.

Now retired, I consistently retained many highly recognized local and national legal counsel on my behalf, on behalf of the companies for whom I have worked, on behalf of issuers of securities and clients whom I advised throughout my approximately 50 year finance and nationally recognized municipal investment banking career. In addition I advised and consulted for many such highly and nationally recognized legal counsel in connection with over one billion of dollars of approximately 50 separate securities issuance litigations.

Without hesitation, we expect to retain you and Carpenter & Capt, Chartered should a need in your specialty at law arise in the future.

Respectfully,

DL

Hello. My name is Tiffany. After being married 2 years, my husband, who is from the Dominican Republic, and I decided to move to the United States. I was reluctant at first to find an immigration lawyer to help us, but after running into road block after road block with the immigration services, we finally decided a lawyer´s assistance was necessary.

After praying over a list of lawyers, I met with Robert Carpenter. After going over our case, he developed a contract between us which he respected thoughout the time we worked with him. All of the paperwork was prepared and sent in a timely manner. I was kept informed about the process of our case throughout the entire time. Mr Carpenter and his staff were all very sincere and genuinely had our best interest at heart. And because I was living here with our daughter like a single mother at the time, they worked out a payment plan for me that was affordable.

We appreciate very much the assistance of Robert Carpenter and his staff in the process of getting a residency for my husband. It has been a priceless gift to my family.
