Chicago Immigration Lawyers

Welcome to Carpenter & Capt, Chtd. We are happy to tell you about ourselves, our practice and about the law itself. Please check our Mission Statement to understand how we aim to apply our talents to our cases. Our biographies  will tell you more about each of us, and the other links to your left provide what we believe is other important information about us and the law we practice.

Carpenter & Capt, Chartered is a boutique firm, concentrating in Immigration & Nationality Law, Plaintiff’s Personal Injury, Real Estate and Probate law. We believe smaller can only mean better, because it enables us to spend the appropriate amount of time on each of our clients’ matters. In a world that constantly increases expectations and speed, we espouse a philosophy of taking our time, knowing our clients, and producing the highest quality products and results. If this sounds like what you want, we might be the right lawyers for you.

Personality and trust are two other critical components of finding the right lawyers for you. We are therefore happy to spend time on the telephone, by email or in person to understand your problem and the legal issues presented by your case. We generally will not charge you for these consultations, if we deem them necessary, because we find knowing the potential client and his or her situation is critical before deciding whether to form a professional relationship by becoming your counsel.

Our strengths start with our award winning attorneys known for their vigilance and hard-hitting legal work. We are not a shy bunch – we believe making friends with our opponents is far less important than fighting for our clients with every tool available. The partners bring over 20 years of experience, each, to the table. We use technology to the fullest, with creativity and energy marking our every endeavor.

If we sound like the kind of people with whom you want to ally yourself, please read on. This site has up-to-date information about new legal developments, helpful links, and  recent accomplishments of each of our attorneys.

We are located in the historic Monadnock building, across the street from the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigrant Services (formerly known as the INS) and the DOL, as well as the federal courts. The Monadnock building is an architectural landmark (1893), a building that combines extraordinary vision, beauty and brute strength in its design and structure. We hope to emulate those characteristics in our work. We hope to hear from you!

Why Choose Us?

  • I have been very much pleased by Patricia’s handling of our recent Probate matter. Her attention to details I almost certainly would have missed ; her consistent and effective dealings with myriad details and insightful and experienced advice was a tremendous help to me in a very difficult time. I really appreciate the personal touch she brought, and her highly professional  performance made my role as Executor so much easier.  It is my pleasure to continue our relationship with new and challenging matters at hand

  • Robert Carpenter have helped me since 2006 to get my permanent residence card; and lately my citizenship; I strongly recommended him to anyone that is seeking for any immigration issue; he is very professional; honest and knowledgeable as all his staff as well.

  • The best immigration lawyer in Chicago, this is by far not an understatement. His firm worked with me every step of the way, handling payment arrangements, case related issues, knowledgeable staff and most importantly the friendly family atmosphere. My immigration case was resolved within four months. I would recommend him to anyone seeking excellent service. I am sure that you will be as pleased as I was. My heart felt thanks to all of you at "Carpenter & Capt".

  • We were referred to Carpenter and Capt, by a family member who had used their services. Step by step they let us know what was going to happen or what we needed to do next.  They were always very prompt, when receiving notices from the USCIS, at calling us and telling what was going on in our case. We always felt up to date and never in the dark.
